About Me

Welcome! I’m Salvatore, the cook, writer, and food enthusiast behind Your Gastronomy Guide. My love for Italian food runs deep—I studied at a cooking school in Italy, but the best lessons didn’t come from a classroom. They came from my grandmothers, aunts, and my mother, who taught me that true Italian cooking is about intuition, tradition, passion, and love.

I was lucky to spend time helping my grandfather and uncle on the farm—picking olives, harvesting fresh produce, and learning to appreciate the care that goes into every ingredient. Even more special was bringing those ingredients into the kitchen, where I would cook alongside my family, turning them into homemade tomato sauce, wine, and salami. Those moments, filled with hard work, laughter, and the unmistakable scents of the season, are ones I’ve always missed, especially now that I live in the UK.

For years, I thought about sharing my passion through a blog, and I finally decided to take that step. Sharing recipes here is my way of keeping those memories alive and reliving them with each dish I make.

My goal? To inspire you to cook with confidence, embrace simple ingredients, and savor the joy of making (and sharing!) great food. So grab a cup of coffee, browse around, and let’s cook something wonderful together.

Buon appetito! 🍝🍷
